| SO WHAT IS THE STAND? |
We believe much of today's entertainment pushes the limits of decency and what is deemed socially acceptable. It has been a slow process of numbing our senses by creating lower and lower standards for entertainment. What was once considered unthinkable and obscene has now become primetime entertainment. Whether it is PG-13 movies that would have earned an R rating just a few years ago, live concerts and shows that would make Vegas blush, or even sporting events where fans sitting next to you are allowed to drink to their heart's content and shout profanity while you cover junior's ears; today's standard of entertainment is sometimes like walking in a minefield of obscenity bombs.
Well, there is hope. Here at The Stand we have decided not to follow the crowd. We have drawn the proverbial line in the sand staking our claim to be a different type of entertainment venue. We have set the bar very high, because like you, we are also tired of what we see day in and day out. Simply, The Stand is an "alternative" entertainment venue. We are redefining the term alternative by providing some of the best live entertainment available today, entertainment that does not offend, entertainment that is positive, entertainment that is clean, smart and very high quality. We scour, evaluate and consider every act we book so as to bring you only the best live entertainment in the industry today.
The Stand is a non-profit 100% volunteer based organization. We are not a money machine; we are a gift to the community... because it is the right thing to do. |

OUR VISION
Birthed out of a desire from Bob Holt, Senior Pastor of Christ the King Church, long time member Bill Peterson and friend Steve Bourque, The Stand is an independent entertainment venue that presents all of its shows on the grounds of Christ the King Church.
Understand one thing; although all of The Stand's events are in a church building, The Stand is definitely NOT church. Our mission is to provide clean, high quality, family friendly entertainment, without the sermon. We are not a "bait and switch". . . you know, a little show and a lot of preaching. In fact we promise never to preach. We are just trying to honor the wishes of millions who have had enough. |

OUR ACTS
As mentioned before we scour the planet looking for the best in music and comedy. It is a daunting task to find entertainers that have the same commitment to quality and propriety. They do exist however. Many of our headline acts are Christian performers, while other headliners provide excellent entertainment with great positive influence. We also showcase local talent as our warm-up performers. All in all an evening at The Stand is never a disappointment. |

THE VENUE
The Stand comfortably seats 700, so there really is not a bad seat in the house. With seating at this level you truly get the feeling of an intimate show. Handicap accessibility is readily available. The stage is raised with flat floor seating. Built in 2007 our lighting and sound is brand new and manned by skilled technicians who have years of experience in the field.
Full concessions are also available at a fair and reasonable price. |

OUR PRICES
One of the best aspects of The Stand is our pricing. All tickets are always at a fair and reasonable price starting as low as $10.00!
Honestly, that is an incredible bargain when it comes to live entertainment that is appropriate for the whole family and guarantees not to offend. If for example you consider the cost of movie tickets and a few concessions, your investment in entertainment is about the same. . . but was the movie worth it? |
